Lower Your Insurance Premiums with Pass Plus

Motor insurance for newly qualified drivers can be sky high. This is because statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have an accident in the first two years than at any other time of their driving career. Pass Plus was established to give new drivers additional skills and reduce the likelihood of accidents in this group. To reward you for taking the Pass Plus course, insurers will often offer a substantial discount on your premiums. In most cases the discount will more than cover the cost of the Pass Plus training.

The Driving Standards Agency (DSA - Pass Plus website) have produced lesson plans for the course that your Smart1 driving instructor will follow. There are six modules involved: Town Driving, All-weather Driving, Driving Out of Town, Night Driving, Driving on Dual Carriageways and Driving on Motorways. The course will be a minimum of 6 hours training (Smart1 can arrange for this to take place on one day) and drivers will be awarded a certificate to prove you passed Pass Plus.

Motorway Driver Training For Qualified Drivers

You may prefer not to take the Pass Plus course but would like to take some lessons on motorway driving. Smart1 can offer lessons to suit your abilities in order to help increase your confidence in motorway driving. Please check the Packages and Prices for the current hourly rate of our standard lessons. Take as many lessons as you need to get up to speed with motorway driving!

Please note that Motorway Training is only available to qualified drivers as the law states that drivers with a provisional licence cannot drive on motorways.

Refresher Lessons

As well as Motorway Training and the Pass Plus scheme, Smart1 can also offer refresher lessons. We will work with you on identifying areas in which you feel you need to develop.
